Turning Over a New Leaf

Autumn is a season of change. So I've been toying with the idea of getting an online degree in Nutrition for a while and I've finally signed up to do so! My books should be here next week and I'm so excited to start learning!

Also, I figured, since I'm going to be getting married in just about a year and I fully expect to look great on my big day, I'm hoping learning about Nutrition along the way will help me with my goals.

Over the next months, along with sharing my new and wonderful soaps...(which btw, the latest and greatest this week is my new Christmas Sleigh Ride Soap! An intoxicating blend of Pine Trees, Peppermint and Warm Spices! Find it at Kupala.etsy.com soon)...I plan on sharing with you my in depth journey of eating right, exercising and the revelations therein.

I'm looking forward to sharing my nutrition learning experiences with you all in the hopes that I will end up where I want to be (about 40 lbs lighter!) :-D

New MOM Soap (Milk, Oatmeal & Honey)!

When I first decided I wanted to make a milk soap, I knew it had to be an Oatmeal, Milk & Honey soap. I asked my mother how you said Oatmeal, Milk & Honey in Ukrainian and she said it was "Malako", "Ofsienka" and "Myod" (phonetically spelled of course!!) :-) Well, I took the first letter of each word and it spelled MOM, which related perfectly. Not to mention an Oatmeal, Milk & Honey soap seems just like a "Mom" kind of soap! :-)

Since there would be no real swirl design with this one, I decided to go back to my log mold, which actually worked out well, since this time I wanted to line my top with whole oatmeal and a dash of cinnamon.

This milk soap is a saponified blend of whole milk, coconut oil, olive pomace, palm oil, avocado oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, beeswax, hand-ground oatmeal, honey, cinnamon and Oatmeal, Milk & Honey Fragrance.

New Firebird Soap!

I've sold out of all my Firebird soap on Etsy and have just made another batch! This is my 3rd concoction of Firebird and my prettiest to date!!

I used my new mineral oxides for coloring and they work the best by far! Going to cut into it in about 4 hours and see how the bars came out. I'm VERY happy with my swirls and new slab mold!

Firebird is a saponified blend of Olive Pomace, Coconut Oil, Avocado Oil, Palm Oil, Wheat Germ, Beeswax, Essential Oils of Lavender, Spruce, Sweet Orange, Clove, Sandalwood and Tea Tree, and the following spices for a light exfoliating feeling: Turmeric, Cinnamon, and Pumpkin Spice.

A zesty endeavor, the Firebird soap, is a FANTASTIC soap that many have become hopelessly addicted too, including my boyfriend!
